The Pink Poison Cheerleading squad was founded by their current coach Kerrie Brogan and have been established for over 2 ½ years. The Pink Poison cheerleaders are a talented and motivated bunch of young individuals based in St. Helens, Merseyside. The age of the cheerleaders starts at just 4 years old and currently rises to 21.
When the squad was first put together, the team consisted of only 11 team members aged between 11 - 16 years old. After a lot of hard work by everyone involved, the coach and the team felt the time was right to enter their first major competition in July 2006: BCA European Championships in Nottingham. As this was their first competition nobody expected what was about to happen. Just attending and gaining the experience was immense for all involved. With their dedicated coach and the commitment from the squad, Pink Poison Cheerleaders came away with 3 well deserved trophies.

With this fantastic achievement, we felt it only right to celebrate it with the local newspaper ‘The St. Helens Star’. Once this was published, it generated a lot of interest with the young crowd. It seemed to be a new and exciting way of keeping fit and having fun with a competitive edge.

With all the new found interest, we soon had enough members to form two new squads, Pink Poison Pee Wee’s and Pink Poison Junior’s. No time to rest. Pink Poison was going from strength to strength and had to get ready for their next major competition in November 2006: BCA Southern Classics. This proved to be even more successful with a total of 8 trophies plus the prestigious ‘Sportsmanship Trophy’, which is presented by the director of the BCA. Even more success followed Pink Poison when they attended ‘BCA Western Classics’, in February 2007. A total of 9 trophies were achieved, including three 1st places!

This has been by far the most successful competition Pink Poison have ever attended. Not only did they scoop 10 trophies, but all three squads have been invited to compete in America next year. This is an outstanding achievement for a squad that has been attending competitions for just 1 year and is a credit to the coach, the cheerleaders and most of all their families for all their continuous support.

Two years on and Pink Poison attended the BCA Western Classics in February 2009. They achieved 9 1st Place Trophies, 5 2nd Place Trophies, 1 3rd Place Trophy and 2 4th Place Trophies. This just highlights how successfull Pink Poison have become and also how much they have grown in 2 years!!!

They now look forward to competing at different competitions and training hard to get the best results possible.
